Wow, we're movin' up!

Well, the bridal editor from the Arkansas Democrat Gazette called me today to let us know that our wedding had been selected to be featured (ahem, in color) in the High Profile section of the Demo-zette! It apparently is based on education, achievements, and honors - wow! So, I have to get her about 5 pages of information and several color pictures of my bridal portriat by the 18th. The Demo-zette typically runs wedding announcements with a 2"x2" block of only the brides face, with about one 7 sentences stating the date, parents, where it was held, and where the couple will reside. Now, apparently we will have quite a bit more to work with! I'm meeting with our photographer tomorrow to see what we can do about my pictures (since my hair was messed up in them!).

Only 25 days left! It just doesn't seem right... things are moving soo quickly - I can't wait to get the day here! I'm not sure who all is reading this - and I will send out information - but due to scheduling conflicts, our rehearsal will be held on Thursday, December 2nd. I know this is probably a HUGE inconvienence - but thats the only way that we could rehearse any of it! It will begin at 5:30 - so I hope all of our attendants can make it. Our rehearsal dinner will still be at Juanits on the 3rd. I will send out information to everyone involved!

Bed And Bath...

Well, we wrapped up the last of the showers for our wedding this weekend - a "Bed and Bath" shower was held for us by two of our bridesmaids (and their mothers). It was wonderful, and many people got to attend that I hadn't seen in quite some time! Rachael from Louisiana got to come, and my flower girl was there. She helped open every gift! :) I really appreciated Heather and Krishelle for all that they did! I know from experience, a lot of time and energy is put into hosting a bridal shower - and we truly appreciate it!!

Showers..and more showers!

Showers everywhere! Literally. It's been raining here for what seems like forever! We're still having temperatures in the 80's - so hopefully this one today will cool some things off - next week were actually suppose to be in the 60's. Finally, some actual fall weather. It's November, and at any moment you can still see tank tops, flip flops, and shorts. Welcome to Arkansas. Blah.

In other shower news, a wedding shower was hosted this Saturday for us by Troy's Aunt Thelma. It really was wonderful and I got to finally meet a lot of my future family members that I hadn't had the opportunity to meet before. I enjoyed getting to know them (in addition to getting some really great gifts to fix up our place!) I'm really blessed to be joining such a great family...and think...in only about 4 weeks - it will be official! These past months (well...past year) has flown by. Troy and I will just be talking and it just comes out, "Can you believe that we are getting married in 4 weeks?" It's a wierd and exciting feeling.

Speaking of official, the invitations are out! We hope they get to everyone ok. I've included directions to both the wedding site and to the hotel that we blocked rooms. Not thinking about the connection, a couple people have already asked me if anything will actually be taking place at the hotel and the answer is no - those were provided for anyone planning on staying there. The directions were pulled from the train station's website - I hope that they are easy to follow - please let me know if anyone has questions about it.

ALSO...included with the invitations were RSVP cards - please, please try to get those back to me, as we are relying on a fairly accurate count for our reception! :) I didn't think to include the "will not be able to attend" on there, which, hindsight is 20/20 - but I've had a few people (that couldnt attend) return the cards with little notes written on the inside! Although we hate that they won't be there, I appreciate that thoughtfulness of letting me know! :)

Oh, and on our website there is a button to RSVP for the wedding - however, I DID NOT enable this function, and am recording RSVP's from my end with the returned cards. Someone asked my mom if they were invited because the online RSVP didn't accept thier name and zip code - just want everyone to know that I wasn't using that, and all invitations and RSVP's (in and out of town) were mailed.

If you got here, then you probably read on our home page that the hotel room block will be dropped on November 20th. Be sure to make your reservations before that time to get the really good rate of $59- otherwise after that date, they go up about 20-40 dollars depending on which type room you prefer.

Can't wait to see everyone in 4 weeks! :) love, Karlyn
